butter substitute

Butter is the key ingredient in this recipe, but it can be substituted for different dietary needs. For those following a vegan diet, you can substitute vegan butter or margarine for the butter. Those who are lactose intolerant can use lactose-free butter or plant-based butter substitutes. If you want to reduce the amount of saturated fat in a recipe, you can use low-fat butter or extra olive oil on top of what the recipe already calls for. Keep in mind that using a different type of fat or using less fat may affect the final taste and texture of the dish.

Air Fryer Cooking Tips

If you’re new to cooking in an air fryer, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Make sure to spread out the Brussels sprouts in a single layer to ensure even cooking.
  • Toss the Brussels sprouts halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
  • Keep an eye on the Brussels sprouts during the last few minutes of cooking, as they can go from fully browned to charred very quickly.

Storage and Reheating Instructions

This dish is best enjoyed fresh, as reheating can soften the brussels sprouts and make them less crispy. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. When reheating, you can put them back in the air fryer for a few minutes to try to crisp them up again.
