I might be a little donut crazy. Some might call me a donut connoisseur. I love making them and I love eating them. I’ve tested dozens of donut recipes, so my friends and neighbors have been loving and eating them too. I may have briefly been a donut delivery guy there.

These vanilla cake donuts seem to be a favorite of many. They have a cake-like texture and the perfect balance of sweet vanilla and semi-sweet chocolate glaze. Add some sprinkles, and you’ve got a colorful, picture-perfect little donut.

These donuts are in Mini Donut Pans. You can use a regular size donut pan. Be sure to increase the cooking time.

raw material

Donut

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

glaze:

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • light rain

instruct

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease mini donut pans.

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  • Add eggs, milk and melted butter and beat until combined.

  • Transfer batter to a pastry bag fitted with a large round tip. Squeeze dough into donut molds, filling about 1/2 or 2/3 full.

  • Bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl whisk together powdered sugar and cocoa powder to make glaze. Add water and stir until combined. Sprinkle a few tablespoons onto a small plate.

  • Remove from oven and remove donuts from pan. Dip the tops of the donuts in the glaze, then in the sprinkles. Cool completely on a wire rack.
