Learn how to make basic homemade cranberry sauce with 3 ingredients and 8 different flavors. There must be something you like!

Ah, cranberry sauce. Growing up, we just assumed tubes of gel were our only option. We didn’t realize that cranberry sauce could actually be made with… you know… cranberries. We’d slice it about an inch thick and stare at that circle on our plate, hoping it wouldn’t invade the rest of the meal.

When you know more, you do better. Today I will introduce you to cranberry sauce made with only 3 ingredients! 1 of them is real fresh cranberries! We can now say with great pride that we love cranberry sauce, and with so many flavor variations on this classic recipe, we know you will too!

Can cranberry sauce be made ahead of time?

Yes! There are so many things to worry about during a Thanksgiving meal, and we don’t want you to worry about this. Prepare your cranberry sauce the night before or in the morning before you devote all your attention to turkey and pie. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Can I reduce the sugar or use honey instead?

We like our cranberry sauce sweet, but you can always reduce the sugar if you prefer it a little more tart. However, we don’t recommend going below 1/2 cup of sugar, as that would be very tart. If you prefer to use honey instead of granulated sugar, you can use a 1:1 ratio or reduce to 1/2 cup.

Spoon into a bowl of cranberry sauce.

Storage Instructions:

Cranberry sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 to 7 days. It’s great on its own, as a layer on leftover turkey sandwiches, or thrown into some plain yogurt!
