Our Chicken Lettuce Wraps are even better than PF Chang’s! Chicken and vegetables cooked in the tastiest, most flavorful sauce and served in lettuce cups for an all-around appetizer!
Oh appetizers. Aren’t they the best? If you’re anything like us, it’s easy to get used to bringing the same handful of appetizers to parties, until suddenly they all don’t sound good anymore. Some of our favorites are the Jalapeno Popper Dip and the Spinach Artichoke Dip. They are so delicious! But how many times can we hang out with them again and again? Chicken lettuce wraps are mostly forgotten in our social circles, and we bring them back to life with this amazing recipe that’s even better than the original PF Chang’s we all remember. Liven up your appetizer game with this appetizing game!
Chicken Options:
You have a lot of options when it comes to what chicken to use in these Chicken Lettuce Wraps. You can use chicken breasts or thighs if you like, but even better, you can simply use ground chicken and save cutting time!
Spice Grade:
The Asian Chili Garlic Sauce in this recipe gives it some warmth. You can always omit this ingredient if you are particularly sensitive to spices. Alternatively, you can up the heat by adding red pepper flakes.
What’s better than PF Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps for gluten-free?
As written, this recipe is not completely gluten free. However, it can easily be made gluten-free with a few simple substitutions. Hoisin sauce and soy sauce naturally contain gluten, so you’ll want to use a gluten-free specialty hoisin sauce and use liquid aminos instead of soy sauce.
Also, rice vinegar is a controversial ingredient in the gluten-free community. In tests, vinegar was shown to stay below the threshold for being considered gluten-free, but some people can still react to the gluten in vinegar. If you are not sure how your body will react to vinegar, use this ingredient with caution.
Can I make this vegetarian?
You absolutely can! Simply replace the chicken with your favorite plant-based chicken substitute to make this recipe vegan.
Service suggestion:
You can serve these as an appetizer, or serve them with rice or noodles for a hearty dinner!

Storage and Reheating Instructions:
We recommend that you only serve as much filling as you need at a time, so you can store the lettuce separately from the filling to prolong its shelf life. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat the filling in a skillet on the stovetop over medium-low heat until heated through.
