Garlic infused nutty brown butter in this amazingly easy pasta side dish. Brown Butter Garlic Angel Hair Pasta is a quick and versatile side dish that you’ll use again and again.

The nutty flavor of the brown butter adds a bit of flavor to this easy dish. Top with some grilled chicken (or fish) and vegetables for a complete meal, or serve it as an easy side dish. Clearly, the fussiest kid eaters will still eat it, and it’s delicious enough that adults will be delighted too. This has been a must-have side dish for years. It works with just about anything, and we can easily turn it into an entire meal, which makes it a keeper.

You can totally do this without browning the butter, but browning the butter adds a nice touch that’s worth the extra few minutes of effort. The garlic cloves infused the butter with a garlicky flavor that was so delicious. We love the sediment left on the bottom of the pan after making browned butter. With the garlic we had to clean the bottom of the pan with a piece of crusty bread. Don’t tell yourself “don’t eat the bread!” you won’t be able to resist.

  • What herbs can I add to this recipe?

We highly recommend you try garnishing this dish with a bit of tarragon to change it up. We absolutely love tarragon and it’s been so much fun using it to change things up and add a little “gourmet” touch to such a simple dish.

  • Pasta Options:

We like to use what we have on hand rather than rushing to the store if we don’t have to. Angel hair is the pasta of choice for this side dish, but you can always substitute any long-noodle pasta, such as cappellini, vermicelli, or even spaghetti.

  • How can I turn Brown Butter Garlic Angel Hair Pasta into a main dish?

This recipe requires such simple ingredients that you can easily pair it with just about anything. We recommend adding grilled fish or simple lemon chicken to make the meal even more filling. For a well-balanced dish, add your favorite roasted vegetables with your favorite meat. Zucchini, halved cherry tomatoes, eggplant, green beans, and peas all work well with this dish. Simply grill with your chicken or fish, or roast it in the oven and toss it with pasta.
