These Chocolate Turtle Cookies are delicious, soft, and delicious. Any chocolate lover will go crazy over this delicious cookie recipe!

Chocolate Turtle Cookies are popular year-round, but we especially love them in the fall. The chocolate chip cookie base in this recipe is the perfect combination of brownie and cookie, and it’s delicious. Just when we think we’ve found our new favorite cookie recipe, we’re always struck by another one. So, for today at least, Chocolate Turtle Cookies are our new favorite cookie, and we’re sure you’ll agree!

Caramel Options in Chocolate Turtle Cookies:

You can use unwrapped caramel candies in this recipe (as pictured), or you can use caramel cubes. Caramel cubes are small round pieces of caramel that melt easily. Sometimes you can only find these at the grocery store during the fall holiday baking season – so watch out!

nut:

If you want to make it clear that these cookies have nuts in them, I suggest putting some pecan halves on top for decoration. Not only is this a definite sign of nuts, but it adds some flair to them.

Are the walnuts optional?

The price of nuts is always fluctuating. You can easily substitute walnuts in this recipe for equally delicious cookies. I guess they wouldn’t technically be “turtle” cookies then, but your secret is safe with me!

Storage Instructions:

These cookies should be stored in an airtight container after cooling. Be sure to let the cookies cool completely before storing. Cookies should be stored in a single layer to prevent transfer of caramel from the top to the bottom of other cookies. You can easily do this in a plastic bag, or use a Tupperware container.
