Caesar salad is an all-time favorite. Still, we just never liked salad greens. We know, it’s very healthy and eating more of it is probably a good idea, but many salads are bland and not overly exciting. Luckily, Caesar Salad is one salad we always get excited about when eating out! Crispy croutons and Parmesan cheese with a rich and creamy dressing are amazing! You will love it!

Can I add chicken to Caesar Salad?

Absolutely! We love a good Chicken Caesar Salad, and it’s your choice of which chicken to use! You can buy precooked chicken ready to put in salads, cook chicken breasts, use leftover chicken, or even shred roast chicken!

Parmesan cheese:

You can freshly chop or grate some Parmesan, or buy pre-shredded or pre-grated Parmesan from the refrigerator section of your local grocery store. You want to avoid powdered or shelf-stable Parmesan cheese as they are low quality and contain various additives.

Can I use store bought Caesar salad dressing?

You can always use store-bought in a pinch, but there’s nothing like fresh Caesar salad dressing. If you plan to use store-bought dressing, this recipe calls for 2 cups.

where are the eggs

We know that many people are disgusted with raw eggs, so we developed this recipe without raw eggs to give everyone one less thing to worry about.

Anchovies are a classic ingredient in Caesar salad dressing, and they’re totally necessary. If you don’t want to deal with those tiny fish fillets, use 2 tablespoons of anchovy paste instead.

Note in advance:

You really want to make this dressing the day you serve it. Best fresh, but can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use. However, the croutons can be made 2-3 days in advance. Just store them in the zipped bag until ready to use.

Storage Instructions:

Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for about 3 days. How long your salad will stay fresh depends largely on how fresh your romaine lettuce and dressing are. The longer the croutons sit in the fridge, the softer they will start to soften.
