Cooked low and slow in the oven or slow cooker, country-style ribs are tender, juicy and full of flavor.
We love grilled ribs. Seriously, this is one of our favorite ways to eat ribs. Unfortunately, the weather isn’t always perfect for grilling, and we had to develop an equally delicious method of cooking ribs. We didn’t even miss the grill when making these country-style ribs. They were tender off the bone and packed with flavor. That caramel sauce? to die for. You will love it!
Ribs vs. Country Ribs:
Fun fact: country style ribs aren’t ribs at all! They actually come from the shoulder roast, the same cut of pork you use for pulled pork. It is thicker than ribs and has more fat, super tasty!
Barbecue sauce:
Depending on how much time we have, we can just use whatever BBQ sauce we have in the pantry. However, we know nothing beats homemade, so we always make it from scratch when time permits! The sauce included in this oven-baked BBQ chicken recipe will make just the right amount of BBQ sauce for your ribs.
Slow Cooker Instructions:
Prepare rubbed and coated ribs. Place in a 6-quart slow cooker, cover, and cook on low, 7 to 8. Finally transfer the ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet and brush with BBQ sauce. Place on the broiler setting to caramelize the sauce.
