Appetizers can be small, but they can also be big in flavor. Cream Cheese Avocado Ravioli is a classic. The wontons are delicious on their own, but the cilantro lime dip is what really matters. Packed with flavor and sure to please!

Dip that warm, crispy wonton into the dipping sauce and pop it into my mouth for the tartness of the sauce, the still crispy wontons, and the slightly melted creaminess of the cream cheese and avocado is heavenly of. This may seem like a lot of wontons, but once you start eating them, you will see that it goes quickly. They are so nice!

  • Do I have to use avocado?

You don’t need avocados to make these Cream Cheese Avocado Ravioli. You can simply leave them out and use regular cream cheese ravioli instead. We still recommend whipping the cream cheese before using it as a filling.

  • What other sauces go well with cream cheese ravioli?

Cream cheese ravioli is often served with a sweet and sour sauce. For a fun sweet and sour dip, try our Cranberry Sweet and Sour Dip. We’ve included a recipe for Cilantro Lime Dip that uses a delicious soy sauce base with some lime juice and vinegar.

  • Tips for Frying Wontons

    • Pay attention to the oil temperature. Use an instant-read thermometer for best results. Overheating oil is dangerous, so watch the temperature carefully and double check between frying.
    • Put oil in the bottom of a skillet or high sided pot. This will cause the oil to pop and splash over the sides of the pan, not on you or near any flames.
    • Carefully place the item to be fried into the oil. Never drop them as they will splatter and you could end up getting burned.
    • For the wontons, be sure to seal each wonton completely so the filling doesn’t leak out. Make sure there are no air bubbles. If the filler leaks through a bad seal, or when an air pocket breaks, you’ll get a nasty splatter when the filler contacts the oil.
