Have we been gushing about how much we love our saucepan lately? Temperatures in the Midwest are scorching hot and we’re looking for ways to keep our house as cool as possible, and that means turning off the stove and oven at all costs! Enter: crockpot. Our house stays cool, the prep time is super fast, and then the crockpot takes over to do the real work. At the end of the day, you won’t be well rested from overworking the kitchen, and you’ll be eating the most tender, tastiest chicken. All kinds of not loving? Trust us and add this to your meal plan ASAP!

Pineapple

In this recipe, the pineapple serves a dual purpose. Not only does it add a sweet, juicy flavor to the sliders, it also helps tenderize the chicken. By cooking chicken with pineapple, the natural enzymes in the fruit help break down the proteins in the chicken, resulting in a tender and juicy end product. Trust us, you won’t want to skip the pineapple in this recipe!

butter

Butter is one of those ingredients that makes everything better, and these sliders are no exception. Chicken breasts can be lean, and adding butter to the slow cooker helps keep the chicken moist for a smoother texture. While butter is optional in this recipe, we highly recommend it for best results.

barbecue sauce

For the BBQ sauce in this recipe, we prefer to use the homemade version, but if you have a favorite store-bought BBQ sauce, feel free to use it. The choice is yours, but either way, the result is sure to be delicious.

service suggestion

These Cream Cheese Chicken Strips are great for traditional dinner wraps, but you can also use hamburgers, your favorite bun, or even lettuce wraps for a lighter option. If you follow a specific diet, don’t worry! You can use gluten-free or keto bread to suit your needs. The options are endless, so get creative and make these sliders your own!
