One caveat for large family gatherings: one batch may not be enough!

Corn Options for the Creamiest Creamy Corn:

Freezing corn is so easy, we’re all about making it easy. You can also use corn on the cob, just cut it off the cob. No need to cook first. Canned corn is not preferred, but can be done in a pinch. Drain the canned corn first.

Heavy Cream Substitute:

If you’re looking for a lighter creamed corn variety, you can always substitute half and half (half whole milk and half cream) for the heavy cream.

Top notch ideas:

We love this recipe, but you can always top it with crumbled bacon and chives.

Slow Cooker Instructions:

You still need to follow the first step of this recipe. When done, add the cooked flour and butter mixture and other ingredients to the slow cooker and stir to combine. Uncover and cook on low heat for 4 hours.

  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 20 ounce frozen corn thaw
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese finely ground
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup milk

instruct

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and sprinkle with flour. Cook the flour until it turns a more golden color.Make sure to stir frequently, about 5 minutes

  • Once browned, turn the heat down to medium-low and add the milk. Stir until the sauce is smooth and well combined.

  • Add the corn to the sauce mixture along with the heavy cream, Parmesan, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir and simmer over medium heat for 8-10 minutes.

  • Serve hot.
