There’s nothing better than crispy pork chops. We do it all the time, but traditionally it’s always shallow fried. We think frying is the only way to get perfectly crispy pork chops. Boy were we wrong! We’ve perfected this recipe to give you the juiciest meat on the inside while keeping the outside crunchy. Of course we also like to save oil. It’s a healthy twist on the classic tonkatsu, but it doesn’t taste healthy at all!

Butter Substitute for Crispy Breaded Pork Chops:

You can use a drizzle or a spritz of olive oil instead of butter. Using a little fat on the pork chops will make the breading nice and crispy!

Breadcrumb options:

We prefer panko as it provides the perfect crispness. You can always substitute regular breadcrumbs if desired.

Why is my pork always dry?

Pork can easily be overcooked. We always use a 100% accurate meat thermometer to make sure our pork chops are cooked to food safe standards while not being overcooked and dry!

Pork Chops Options:

We prefer these thick, boneless chops, but you can always use whatever pork chops you have on hand. Keep in mind that thinner pork chops will cook faster, while bone-in pork chops will cook more slowly.

Storage and Reheating Instructions:

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in oven preheated to 350°F until heated through.

  • 4 Boneless Pork Chops 1 inch thick
  • 1 big egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic
  • 4 tablespoon butter melted


  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.

  • In a shallow dish (such as a pie plate), combine 1 egg and milk.

  • In another shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic.

  • Dip each pork chop into the wet mixture, then into the dry mixture, and place on a baking sheet.

  • Drizzle melted butter over pork chops.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145°F (depending on the thickness of the pork chops). Serve hot.
