A great pizza doesn’t need a lot of fancy toppings when the basic ingredients are really good! However, there is one exception to this rule and that is the BBQ Chicken Pizza. We really didn’t expect to like this pizza all those years ago. Seriously, who puts BBQ sauce on pizza? ! Well, we do that now. We’re pretty sure removing any of these ingredients would have changed the whole thing, because this pizza is all about the perfect combination of flavors and textures. The taste of red onions in a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, chicken and mixed cheese is simply unbeatable!
Chicken Options:
You have many options, from completely hands-off prep to making from scratch. If you like, you can always cook some chicken breasts and shred or cut them into bite-sized pieces. Otherwise, go ahead and use shredded rotisserie chicken, or even store-bought precooked chicken.
Pizza Dough:
You can buy ready-made pizza dough from your local grocery store, or use homemade pizza dough.
BBQ Sauce:
Keep things simple with your favorite store-bought BBQ sauce, or kick the taste up a notch with homemade. The taste of homemade is simply irresistible!
Sheet Pan Options for Deep Dish BBQ Chicken Pizza:
If you don’t have a cast iron skillet, you can use any greased 12-13 inch baking dish. The key is to make sure it has deep enough sides to hold all of your filling.

Storage and Reheating Instructions:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in an oven preheated to 350°F, or in the microwave in 30-second increments until heated through.
