There’s nothing like a freshly fried, hand-dipped corn dog. This corn dog recipe replicates the recipe used at Disneyland, where corn dogs were a past favorite. A simple cornbread batter is used to coat the hot dogs before frying them until golden brown. They’re easy to make and easy to freeze to reheat later.

What kind of hot dog should I use?

We recommend using a high-quality hot dog for best results. Look for the words “all beef” on the package usually to indicate a higher quality hot dog. Choose a hot dog that you like. You can also use any shape of hot dog for corn dogs, so you can go long and skinny, or short and fat. It all depends on your personal taste preference.

No buttermilk? It’s easy to make your own buttermilk substitute! All you need is regular milk and a little vinegar or lemon juice. Or try one of our other buttermilk substitutes.

Where can I buy popsicle sticks or craft sticks?

You can find popsicles or craft sticks in the craft section of large supermarkets like Walmart or Target. They’re also often found near grocery stores, where other food-related items like toothpicks and straws are sold.

Freezing and Reheating Instructions:

It’s so easy to instantly freeze what you don’t eat. Reheat in the oven on a baking sheet at 400 degrees for about 10-12 minutes. They get crispy and are still delicious. There’s nothing like freshness, but homemade frozen corn dogs are so much better than store-bought.
