Lemon Garlic Roasted Tilapia is the easiest and tastiest way to put healthy fish on your dinner plate. Cooking fish at home has never been easier!
My family loves to eat fish at home. When we lived in California with all the fresh fish options, we would eat fish two or more times a week. Away from California, there are far fewer fish options. Oddly, if you’re reading this, your options are limited too. High-quality frozen fish is actually a good choice. The trick is to use it as soon as possible after thawing. A lot of the fish you buy from the fish counter at your grocery store has been frozen and thawed there before, so you might as well buy frozen and defrost it yourself for maximum freshness.
This recipe uses tilapia, a very common and less expensive white fish. Eating fish on a budget is a good option. You can use any white fish in this recipe, though, so feel free to experiment with what’s available in your area.

I have many friends and family who are terrified of cooking fish at home. No need, it’s very simple! In this recipe, I’ll show you how to grill fish, which requires very little hands. I also have a great tutorial on how to fry fish that you should check out too. This works for more expensive fillets that only require salt, pepper and lemon juice.
How long should I bake tilapia?
Fish needs to be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. The time it takes to get to this point depends on your cooking temperature and the thickness of the fish. For thin tilapia fillets, plan to bake them in a 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
