Simple Oreo Truffles are absolutely heavenly and super easy to make. They’re the perfect dessert for a party, or just keep in the freezer for anytime! You will love them!
This recipe combines two of our favorite desserts: Oreos and truffles. This combination is heavenly. Truffles seemed so fancy we never really considered making them from scratch. When we discovered how quick and easy they were to make, we hit the ground running in the kitchen and haven’t looked back since. We must warn you, their deliciousness is addictive. While this recipe makes 30 truffles, which may seem like a lot, it’s not nearly enough. Sharing is certainly not enough! We like to keep a batch of these in the freezer so we can sneak one in at any given time. While they’re certainly a favorite treat for the holidays, these are too good to be reserved for the holidays alone. Whether it’s midwinter or 100-degree midsummer, you can’t stop eating it once you taste it!
Cream Cheese Substitute in Easy Oreo Truffles:
If you don’t want to use cream cheese, you can always substitute 1/3 cup of sweetened condensed milk.
Chocolate Dip Tips:
Dip balls in melted chocolate can get really messy. To save your fingers, use a fork or toothpick to carefully insert into the Oreo balls to dip them.
There are a few different ways to melt chocolate. We love how quick and easy it is to melt in the microwave, but you can also use the double boiler method or small crock.
Really fun to make this recipe with many different Oreo flavors! Get creative and try everything!
Unfortunately, we don’t recommend the Double or Mega Stuf Oreos. The consistency will vary too much to work in this recipe.
Decorating these truffles is definitely our favorite! Sprinkle a little, or even drizzle some melted white chocolate on top.
Oreo truffles freeze well. Store refrigerated and hardened truffles in freezer-safe ziplock bags for up to 2 months.
Make sure to store Oreo truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator and refrigerate until ready to serve. Leave them at room temperature for too long and they will start to crack and soften too much. They will keep in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
