Ravioli Lasagna gives you all of your favorite lasagna flavors but takes a fraction of the time to make! This recipe is family friendly and it’s about to become your new favorite meal!

We absolutely love lasagna. It’s so delicious and the perfect comfort food with all the gooey cheeses. However, there are times when we just don’t plan ahead and don’t have time for classic lasagna. Wonton Lasagna is satisfying and a huge time saver for busy families! So whip out your favorite frozen wontons, because this is a family favorite meal.

  • Which ravioli should I use in my ravioli lasagna?

    We like to keep this classic with cheese ravioli, but you can use any ravioli you like: beef, spinach, and cheese, the possibilities are endless! We use frozen wontons instead of freshly packaged ones because they are much cheaper, but both work for this recipe.

  • Meat Choices:

    You can always keep it classic with ground beef or a combination of ground beef and sausage. If you’re looking for a lighter version, ground turkey and chicken are also acceptable options.

  • Can I use store bought pasta sauce or marinara sauce?

    We honestly never use store bought and now we make our own pasta sauce at home! We love the taste so much we always have extra jars on hand. However, you can always substitute your favorite store-bought marina sauce. If you decide to do this, just skip adding all the individual ingredients in step 2 of making pasta sauce from scratch and pour into a store-bought pasta sauce jar instead.

  • Make Ahead and Freezing Instructions:

    Prepare and assemble the ravioli lasagna as directed. Then, cover and refrigerate for up to 48 hours before baking.

    To freeze, cover assembled ravioli lasagna with multiple layers of plastic wrap and a final layer of foil, and place in the freezer. When ready to bake, thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Cooking times will vary, but expect to cook longer than originally called for.

  • Storage and Reheating Instructions:

    Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat single servings in the microwave in 30-second increments until fully heated, typically 90 seconds to 2 minutes total. To reheat large quantities of food at once, use an oven preheated to 350°F and heat until heated through.

  • 1 pound lean beef
  • 1 big white onion chop up
  • 12 ounce canned tomato sauce
  • 5 clove minced garlic
  • 28 ounce canned crushed tomatoes
  • 15 ounce canned tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon grated oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 60 ounce Freezer Cheese Ravioli
  • 3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Divided into
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Divided into


  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook until the beef is cooked through and the onion is tender, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain excess liquid.

  • Add garlic and tomato paste and roast for 2 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, salt, pepper, and basil. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium-low, and continue to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 pan.

  • Pour 1/4 cup bolognese into bottom of 9×13 pan, then spread to cover lightly. Add 1/3 of the wontons. Spoon over 1/3 of the remaining ragu, and top with 1 cup of the mozzarella and 1/3 cup of the Parmesan. Continue using this pattern to create 3 complete layers.

  • Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and starting to brown. Remove foil during last 10 minutes of baking.
