Weekdays are busy, and we know sometimes you want to make a meal that’s simple – but delicious. That’s why we wanted to share this easy chicken taco recipe! The flavor in this dish comes from a quick marinade, which adds spices to really let the poultry shine. After you let the meat marinate, the tacos come together within 20 minutes. Pair your dishes with any toppings and fillings you like – here’s where you can get creative. Tacos are a traditional Mexican dish that we love to recreate at home. Chicken Options:

We recommend using boneless, skinless breasts in this easy chicken taco recipe. You can also substitute boneless and skinless chicken thighs. Note that you will have to cook the meat a little longer. Try to always choose the boneless and skinless options, as they are easiest to prepare on your stovetop with a marinade.

Can I use precooked chicken?

If you’re in a hurry, you can also buy precooked rotisserie chicken from your local supermarket. Chop it up with a fork and put it in the marinade to absorb the flavors. Heat in a saucepan on the stovetop over medium heat. Stir and watch the temperature. Taste to see if it is hot enough, and when it is, remove from heat.

Can I prepare the meat ahead of time?

Another time-saving option is to cook the meat ahead of time for chicken breast tacos. This recipe is great for meal prep. Just follow the cooking instructions and wait for the meat to cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. When you’re ready to eat, heat the chicken in a skillet over medium heat. You can prevent dryness by adding a little water or chicken stock!
