You can use any regular Jimmy’s sprinkles. Rainbow combinations are the traditional choice, but you can mix and match them however you like, or the birthday boy or girl. don’t want Use super sprinkles when making funfetti birthday cupcakes as they ooze and dissolve easily.

Funfetti is a vanilla cake mixed with colorful sprinkles. It has a strong vanilla smell.

How full should my cupcake liners be filled?

For this recipe, only fill your cupcake liners halfway. These cupcakes will rise a lot!

What kind of icing should I use?

As written, this recipe uses plain vanilla cream. You can use any frosting you like, including chocolate buttercream or chocolate or vanilla cream cheese frosting. There are many different kinds of frosting that go well with funfetti cakes.

What trick should I use on my piping bags?

The tip you use on the piping bag will have a different design when squeezing out the frosting. If you choose to sprinkle sprinkles on top of your frosting, you will need to have a very wide opening at the tip of yours for the sprinkles to pass through. If you want to use a tip with a smaller opening, do not sprinkle on your frosting.

  • 1/2 cup salted butter soften
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 big egg
  • 3/4 cup cheese
  • 1/2 cup light rain

frosting

  • 1 cup salted butter soften
  • teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles for decoration

instruct

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line muffin tins with cupcake liners.

  • In a large mixing bowl, using a hand mixer, combine butter and sugar. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  • Add eggs, buttermilk, baking powder and salt and beat until smooth. Slowly add flour until fully combined.

  • Use a rubber spatula to gently stir the sprinkles. Do not over stir or the color will bleed.

  • Fill each cupcake liner 1/2 full. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Remove cupcakes from tin and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • To make the frosting, beat the softened butter, vanilla extract, and 2 cups icing sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly whisk in remaining powdered sugar, thinning with milk as needed. Transfer to a piping bag for frosting. Garnish with additional sprinkles.
