Roasted Brussels sprouts are our favorite way to enjoy them because it perfectly brings out their natural flavors. The seasoning and butter complement the slightly tart edges of the Brussels sprouts and round them out with a smooth, savory finish.

Why do I need olive oil in addition to butter?

Olive oil handles heat differently than butter. Butter is rich and creamy, but olive oil tastes great and also helps crisp the leaves of the sprouts. Using both methods in this recipe combines the best of both worlds to produce deliciously flavorful roasted Brussels sprouts.

How to Choose the Best Brussels Sprouts?

Brussels sprouts should be fresh and small. The smaller and sweeter they are, the better they bake. Try to select plants that have browned or wilted leaves.

Why is garlic whole and not chopped?

The garlic in this recipe will burn at this temperature if crushed or chopped. By toasting it with butter over high heat, the flavors are brought out and blended perfectly with the Brussels sprouts.
