when i get out the ingredients Morel Seeing that wistful look, my 4 year old daughter sighed and said, “Remember that time we were eating morels at the beach and watching the fireworks?” Yes, girl, I do. S’mores are a treat that comes with memories. Whether it’s that camping trip, that picnic, that bonfire, or that summer party, s’mores always seem to carry the memories.
You don’t always need a campfire to make morels. In this recipe, not only do I show you how to make morels on your grill, but I also add some grilled peaches. I’m obsessed with peaches this summer, so adding some morels to it makes perfect sense. The result is a tangy, sweet, slightly smoky s’more that literally screams summer.
Walmart has an entire display dedicated to s’mores, so you can pick everything up in one place. In my store, it’s on the main island, so you can spot it as soon as you walk in. It’s for all those last-minute scrambles to eat morels. You know you’ve made it. I did it on that beach trip and my daughter couldn’t help but think of s’mores. Super convenient.
Making s’mores on the grill is a great way to make s’mores for a crowd without having to stand all over the smoke and burning marshmallows to experience part of the s’mores.
first, Clean out your gas grill and grease it well so your peaches don’t stick together. Heat it over a good high flame. Cut your peaches in half and remove the core. Put their meat on the grill. Close the lid. Let them cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, until they have nice grill marks and are tender.
second, While those peaches are roasting away, assemble your morels. Flat Morel Marshmallows from Jet Puffed are so convenient. They are the perfect shape for grilling.
third, Remove peaches from grill and slice. Reduce heat on grill to medium-low and place peaches on top of marshmallow layer of s’mores. Place a sheet of foil on the grill and place the stack of morels on top of the foil. Cover and let the marshmallows and chocolate all melt and become delicious, about 3 minutes. Remove and serve. I’ve found that flipping them makes all the melted goodness melt over the peaches and saves them together in the chaotic glory of s’mores.
