I have been making this soup for years. My brother used to call it “damn hippie food” and the name stuck. We’ve been calling it that for a long time, but for you, it might just be the most delicious healthy detox vegetable soup ever. No meat, lots of veggies, and everything in it is good for your body!

This soup is an all-time favorite. I absolutely love the flavor of this soup. It’s hearty, filling, and super delicious. Not to mention it’s low in calories, fat, and cholesterol-free, plus it packs 15 grams of protein and 12 grams of fiber per serving. What more could you want?

I don’t really believe in dieting. Been there, done that, and it didn’t work out well. What I believe in is a healthy lifestyle that has to do with balance. For me, healthy eating is not about putting yourself on a diet. I eat what is good for me because it makes my body feel good. I weigh my weight and I love my body. I love every single scar, stretch mark and wrinkle. Because I love my body, I also like to fuel it with good stuff. I mean, I top it off with cake too, but the good stuff like fruits and veggies far outweighs it.

raw material

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large white onion diced
  • 3 celery sticks slice
  • 2 pound sweet potato peeled and diced
  • 2 clove garlic broken
  • 2 teaspoon chili
  • 2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili
  • 4 cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon i am sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 large roma tomatoes diced
  • 1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed (optional)


  • Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and celery and sauté 5 minutes.

  • Add garlic, paprika, mustard powder, basil, salt, cinnamon and cayenne. Bake for 1-2 minutes.

  • Pour in the chicken or vegetable stock, and stir in the soy sauce. Add sweet potatoes. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  • Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10 minutes.

  • Add diced tomatoes and black beans. Simmer until sweet potatoes are tender (about 5 minutes more).

  • Serve hot.
