  • How do I make this recipe into a pancake mix?

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Transfer to a resealable plastic bag or sealable storage container for storage. When ready to use, combine with 1 1/4 cups buttermilk, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 eggs, and 1/4 unsweetened applesauce. To double, triple or quadruple the recipe, you will need 1 3/4 cups pancake mix mixed with the wet ingredients.

  • Can I add blueberries or chocolate chips to this recipe?

Yes! Blueberries or chocolate chips can be folded into the pancake batter, or you can add them after scooping the batter onto the baking sheet to create a design or pattern.Use up to 1/2 cup blueberries or semisweet chocolate chips in this recipe

  • How can I scoop out my pancake batter so that each pancake is the same size?

It’s great if your pancakes are similar in size so you can stack them easily. For this, we recommend using a 1/4 cup measuring cup as a pancake scoop. If you fill the same amount each time, you’ll end up with roughly the same size pancakes each time.

  • How do I know when to flip the pancakes?

Pancakes should be cooked on a flat surface over medium-high heat. You’ll know it’s time to flip when bubbles start to form on top and the edges start to lose their luster. Your pancakes should be golden brown on all sides.

Use a quarter-cup measuring cup to scoop whole-wheat pancake batter.
