We know this method may seem strange to some of you, but air fryer cooking is so popular that it can even be used to cook steaks! You may already have a favorite stovetop or grill method, but you can also make delicious steaks in the air fryer. We don’t always have the time to cook steaks the conventional way, and some people don’t have grilling equipment, which makes the air fryer a quicker, easier option. Trust us, once your steak is done and you’ve slathered it with this amazing compound butter, you’ll forget there are other ways to cook it.

Steak Options:

We love a good rib eye steak, but you can also use sirloin steak, New York steak, T-bone steak, or even a flat iron steak. Bone in or out, it’s up to you! Just make sure your steak is at least 1 inch thick and choose the best grade you can find.

Dry Marinated Air Fryer Steak:

We dry brine our steaks today. If you’ve never heard the term, you can use salt water without any liquids. Our Salt and Pepper does all of this on its own to tenderize and add amazing flavor.

How do I know if my steak is cooked?

We use meat thermometers to ensure 100% accuracy. How long it takes to cook depends entirely on the size of your steak and how done you want it done. Once your meat is at your desired temperature, it’s done.

What if my steak doesn’t fit in my air fryer?

Air fryers come in a variety of different sizes. If your steaks are too small to fit two steaks at the same time while leaving a little space between them for air to circulate, you’ll want to cook them one at a time.

Storage and Reheating Instructions:

Steak is best eaten fresh. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place steaks on a cooling rack set on a baking sheet. Preheat oven to 250°F and cook until steak reaches desired doneness.

raw material

  • 2 steak 3/4″ – 1″ thick
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

compound butter

  • 4 tablespoon salted butter soften
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon coriander chop up
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary chop up
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 splash Worcestershire sauce


  • Place the steaks on the rack so that there is airflow above and below them. Season the steak with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Let the steaks come to room temperature, about 2 hours.

  • Preheat air fryer to 390-400°F.

  • Pat excess moisture off the surface of the steak.

  • Once the air fryer is preheated, place the steaks in the air fryer and cook for 6 minutes. Flip steaks and cook for another 5-6 minutes. The total cooking time will depend on the thickness of the steak and how done you want it to be.

  • Once the steaks have reached the desired doneness, remove from the air fryer and let rest for 10 minutes, with the compound butter on top.

  • In a bowl combine butter, garlic, parsley, rosemary, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
