I’m about to share one of my favorite recipes. We call them “liquid cinnamon rolls”. We use it on pancakes, waffles, French toast, and sometimes even as an ice cream topping.

It tasted like decadent cinnamon rolls just out of the oven, topped with cream cheese frosting. It’s so easy to make and you can keep it in the freezer. Be careful though, because you won’t be able to look at the plain old maple syrup in the store the same way anymore. If you’ve ever wanted to try making your own syrup, now is the time my friends. This thing is too good to be true!

watch the video below Rachel will walk you through each step of this recipe. Sometimes the visuals help, and we always let you watch our cooking shows. You can find the complete collection of recipes youtube, facebook watch, or our facebook pageor provide a corresponding recipe on our website.

cooking time 10 minute

total time 10 minute

raw material

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cheese
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

instruct

  • Melt butter in large saucepan over medium high heat. Use a much larger pan than you think you need, as this mixture will spoil when you add the baking soda. Stir the sugar, buttermilk, vanilla, and cinnamon into the melted butter and bring to a boil.

  • After boiling, simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  • Stir in the baking soda, cook for 30 seconds then turn off the heat. It bubbles like crazy, which is great fun for the kids. The lather disappears in a few minutes.

  • Let it cool, or serve warm. It will thicken as it cools. Store it in a jar in the refrigerator.
