Is this recipe no bake?

yes and no. You do have to bake your Oreo crust, but not once you add the filling. This is a pie that’s best served cold—in fact, you can’t eat it unless it’s completely cooled and left to sit for at least 6 hours. That said, feel free to turn off the oven once you’ve baked the crust because you won’t need it!

Which peanut butter should I use?

While we love all-natural pbs on toast in the morning, you’ll want a classic cream or chunky pb like Jif or Skippy for this easy peanut butter pie recipe. All-natural varieties don’t have enough oil added to get the filling consistency you want.

Cream Stabilizer:

Nobody likes a sad, runny peanut butter pie, which is why we add powdered milk to the whipping cream to help it set for the perfect texture. Other stabilizers you can use:

  • Xanthan Gum: Use 1/4 teaspoon per cup of heavy cream.
  • gelatin: Before adding to the cream, you must prepare the gelatin. Add 1 teaspoon of gelatin to 1 tablespoon of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken, then thaw in the microwave for a few seconds until it becomes liquid.
  • Guar Gum: Use up to 1 teaspoon per cup of cold whipped cream
  • Whipping Cream Stabilizer for King Arthur Flour: Use 1-2 tablespoons per cup of heavy cream

Topping options:

We recommend that you drizzle chocolate syrup and chopped peanut butter cups on top of the peanut butter cream pie. You can also add:

Patience is a virtue and our easy peanut butter pie recipe requires patience. After baking the crust and adding the filling, it’s important to let the pie set completely before serving. Put it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours. Even better if you can let it set overnight!
