The smell of fall is finally here and we’re all for it. There’s nothing more satisfying than going out to eat or grocery shopping with our favorite pumpkin flavor everywhere. It’s something we look forward to every year, and this year is no exception. We’ve been dreaming about pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, and our favorite fall drink, pumpkin smoothie. It’s a delicious dessert drink filled with all the amazing pumpkin spice we can’t get enough of. Make these for a ladies night out or even as an after school treat for the kids. Do I have to use coffee to make a smoothie?

A smoothie is just an iced drink, no coffee required. Depending on your personal caffeine preference, you can simply add 1-2 cups of espresso to the blender along with all other ingredients. Or you can ignore it altogether and opt for decaffeinated.

Dairy Free Instructions:

You can make dairy-free smoothies with your favorite plant-based milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whipped cream substitutes. You should be able to find these items next to the standard dairy aisle at your local grocery store, but if not, natural foods stores will sell them.

Storage Instructions:

Unfortunately, smoothies don’t store well because they’re a partially frozen mixed drink. You can store leftovers in the freezer, but the ice will continue to melt until your smoothie is liquid.

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 to 2 lens Strong coffee 1/4 to 1/2 cup (optional)
  • 3 tablespoon pumpkin puree
  • 3 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 12 ice cubes

instruct

  • Place all ingredients into a blender as listed.

  • Blend on high speed until smooth.

  • Drizzle with whipped cream (optional)

Coffee in this smoothie is optional. You can use espresso or brewed coffee, or skip it altogether for a caffeine-free pumpkin spice treat.
