Raw Brownie – 3 ingredients

When I hear the words “raw dessert” or “vegan dessert,” my heart sinks and I think about times when I went to a vegan Thanksgiving potluck and definitely couldn’t find a good dessert. I love bacon as much as the next girl, but I also appreciate vegetarian and raw foods and the amazing things they can do for your body. In fact, I go on a week-long vegan diet every few months. These brownies changed that diet forever and made it so much easier to stick with it. I feel like I need to shout out to the world:

I found a delicious raw vegan dessert!

Phew, I feel better. Check out the tags on this post, I marked it healthy. Once you look at the ingredient list, you’ll understand why. Absolutely! I mean, it has raw chocolate powder that has some calories, but it also has a lot of good nutritional value. I was feeding these brownies to my kids at a meeting and my friend said, “whatever!” I laughed and let her know what was in them because they looked like brownies and tasted Like brownies, but they’re definitely not what you think brownies are. I’m thinking this recipe won’t just come up when I’m on a diet. I think this will be a regular staple so I can have dessert! Just don’t forget to wash the baby down with a tall glass of almond milk.

Raw brownies on a white plate

raw material

  • 2 cup Walnut
  • 2 1/2 cup date
  • 1 cup raw cocoa powder

instruct

  • In a food processor, blend walnuts until finely ground.

  • Add the dates, 2 or so at a time, and let them blend into the chopped walnuts until all the dates have been added. Towards the end, you may or may not need a pulse processor or blender to get it mixed.

  • Add the cocoa powder and stir until the powders are evenly combined.

  • Press dough into an 8×8 pan and refrigerate. It’s ready to eat right away, but will firm up a bit in the fridge, so it’s easy to cut into brownies. This is very rich, so small servings are best.
