Easy Baked Salmon is a summer favorite! It’s easy to make on the grill, light and healthy, and a quick meal that’s good for you too.

How long does it take salmon to cook on the grill?

The cooking time for salmon on the grill depends on the thickness of the salmon fillet or salmon portion. A 1-inch-thick salmon portion takes about 8 minutes to cook.

What temperature do you bake salmon at?

The USDA recommends that fish need to be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. However, some say the salmon is overcooked at this point. For medium to medium salmon cooking, when salmon reaches 125-130°F, remove from grill and let rest 5 minutes.

Do you have to flip salmon on the grill?

No, you don’t have to flip the salmon if you’re concerned about the salmon sticking together. Seasoned grates cook fish well without sticking, but if you have unseasoned grates or are concerned, just cook the salmon skin side down without flipping. You won’t get those nice grill marks, but the salmon can be cooked all the way with the grill lid closed.
