The Skillet S’mores Dip has gooey chocolate topped with nicely toasted marshmallows. Ready in just 20 minutes, grab a box of graham crackers to dip into the most delicious dessert!

S’mores were the original favorite dessert. There’s something special about desserts that you can only eat a few times a year. For camping trips only, it always feels really special to eat morels. That meant we stayed up late by the campfire, feasting on as many s’mores as our stomachs could handle. Later in life, we decided we wanted to be able to recreate this special dessert anytime we wanted, not just when we were camping! This morel dip will bring you back to your favorite childhood memories and will have you licking the pan clean.

What can I dip in the skillet?

This recipe was written for a 10-inch oven-safe skillet. However, you can always cut the recipe in half to use a smaller skillet, or add something extra to a larger skillet.

If you don’t have an oven-friendly pan, you can use an 8×8 glass or metal baking dish.

Chocolate chip substitute:

Feel free to use chocolate chips as a substitute. Some suggestions are a 50/50 mix of chocolate bars or chocolate chips and peanut butter chips! If you like dark chocolate, that’s great too!

Heavy Cream Substitute:

We prefer a heavy cream dip, but you can use 1/2 and 1/2 instead. If you’re looking for a dairy-free alternative, try full-fat canned coconut milk.

Marshmallow options:

We prefer mini marshmallows, but you can use large marshmallows in a pinch. You just want to cut them in half. We ended up using about 60 mini marshmallows, but how many you use depends a lot on the size of your skillet or baking dish. You want to cover the top completely.

Storage and Reheating Instructions:

Honestly, we never eat leftovers from morel dip. We ate it all until the last bit of melted chocolate was gone! If you find you can’t finish it, you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Reheat in the microwave in 30-second increments until heated through, or in an oven-safe baking dish in a preheated oven at 350 degrees until heated through.
