You might be wondering why you would even consider bacon gravy when sausage gravy is so delicious. We know that sausage gravy is delicious and it still has a place in our hearts and our kitchens! It’s like liquid bacon that you can pour over meat and potatoes. Dreams really do come true!

Thickeners in Bacon Gravy:

We prefer cornstarch as a thickener in this recipe, but you can substitute all-purpose flour if desired. You’ll need to double the amount of cornstarch you need and use a total of 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.

Mixing options:

Once your gravy is ready to be mixed together, you have a few options:

  • Blend until smooth using an immersion blender
  • Pour the gravy into a blender fitted with a vented lid, safe for blending hot liquids, and blend until smooth.

Service suggestion:

We love it over steak or roast chicken dinners, especially baked potatoes!

Note in advance:

You can easily make this ahead of time! Store the finished gravy in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Once you’re ready to eat, reheat in a skillet on the stove over medium-low heat until heated through.

Storage and Reheating Instructions:
