The Most Amazing Brownies are the perfect chewy chocolate fudge cubes. You’ll never buy boxed brownies again! You can also make these brownies with baking chocolate or cocoa powder!
Looking for the perfect brownie recipe? Look no further! I’ve been making these brownies for years and have used them as the base for some of my favorite brownie creations, like my Oreo Fudge Brownies. I’ve had so many friends ask for my basic brownie recipe lately that I decided it was time to post the brownie recipe itself.
These brownies are absolutely perfect. A few years ago, my friend Sally asked me to make boxed brownies for an event. We used a box so they all ended up being the same. Sally laughed when I told her I needed instructions for the box, not just a bag of mix, since I hadn’t made a box mix in ages. My kids and husband were stunned when they saw the complete box of brownies. They wonder why anyone would eat that instead of homemade. Once you start from scratch, there is no going back. it ruins you!Even the best, highest-end brownie mixes don’t compare
I’ve included two recipes below, one using baking chocolate and the other using cocoa powder. They are both amazing and the same recipe. The only difference is the source of the chocolate flavoring and the amount of fat needed to balance it out. Some people like to use real chocolate in their brownies, while others like the convenience of cocoa powder, so use whichever you like!

Only cocoa powder? no problem!
Just increase the amount of butter to 1 cup (16 tablespoons) and use 1 1/4 cups of cocoa powder instead of baking chocolate.
Note: 9×9-inch, 8×8-inch or 11×7-inch plates Thicker brownies require 45-50 minutes of baking time.
