Tikka Masala Lamb Shanks

Home » Tikka Masala Lamb Shanks

I think I’ve been very excited lately. My husband loves it. I just can’t get enough! I’m watching a reality show and they have to do something with lamb. I immediately thought of making lamb shank tikka masala. Next thing I know I’m rushing to the grocery store to buy the ingredients. I just can’t get rid of it! Then we ate it…and I still can’t get rid of it! Holy delicious Batman! It takes some time to cook, but don’t let that scare you because it’s actually pretty simple for something to actually get your hands on. Can I burn meat? can you stir something Then you are totally ready to make this dish.

raw material

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 leg of lamb

1 15 oz can diced tomatoes

1 lemon, juiced

2 tsp cumin

1 tsp cayenne pepper

2 tsp paprika

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 tsp salt

1 teaspoon ginger powder

cilantro for garnish

1 tablespoon butter

2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

1 teaspoon cumin

2 tsp paprika

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 8 oz can tomato paste

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup heavy cream

1. Lamb: Season the leg of lamb with a pinch of salt. Heat a large skillet until it sizzles. Put the olive oil in the pan, then add the lamb shanks. Sear all sides (about 1 minute each). Remove from pan and transfer to a 9×13 baking dish. In the same skillet, combine diced tomatoes, lemon juice, cumin, cayenne, paprika, curry powder, salt, and ginger. Bring to a simmer. Pour over lamb shanks in baking dish. Cover with foil and place them in a 400 degree oven for 2 1/2 – 3 hours. Turn the handle over several times during cooking. Uncover during the last 30 minutes of cooking to brown slightly.

2. Sauce: Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add the garlic, cumin, paprika and curry powder and roast for 1-2 minutes. Add tomato paste, season with salt and bring to a simmer. Add the whipping cream and mix well.

3. Serve with rice and sprinkle with coriander.
